E441 Gelatin

Gelatin (Gelatine, E441) – transparent viscous mass, colorless or having a yellowish tint, a product of processing of connective tissue of animals.

Gelatin is used in the production of:

  • food products (food gelatin);
  • photographic materials (photographic gelatin);
  • pharmaceutical dosage forms in the form of capsules;
  • newspapers, magazines, money (included in some printing inks);
  • cosmetics.
