Detox diet reviews

Detox is a kind of general cleaning in the body: getting rid of everything unnecessary and harmful. And in a short time. In return, you get a fresh complexion, energy, minus a couple of kilograms and good health for at least six months. We will tell you how to arrange a vacation for your body. It’s easy.

The body constantly accumulates toxins, which affects health. Diseases, chronic fatigue and weak immunity, stress and bad mood are all “tricks” of harmful toxins. Of course, nature conceived natural ways of cleansing, but in the XNUMXst century, the influence of the environment on our body is too great, and resources are not enough. Then detox programs come to the rescue, which help to quickly recover and cleanse the body. Restart. Refresh. Refresh yourself.

It is interesting that many women (let’s admit to ourselves that representatives of the stronger sex rarely embark on such adventures, albeit promising incredible bonuses – and giving them, which is important), after going through detox programs, say that they not only feel better physically and grow slimmer – by several sizes or kilograms, as someone else. The mind becomes clearer, the realization of the importance of simple things comes, what was very necessary (work, for example) suddenly seems like a trifle. But just to achieve this effect, the main thing is to follow all the detox rules. Usually the program is calculated for a period of 7 to 21 days: this time is enough to remove toxins and toxins from the body.

We suggest you try detox for a week. New Year’s Eve is the time to experiment: detox experts and nutritionists recommend that you cleanse your body in a quiet time, when you are not haunted by stresses and deadlines. Only this is not an ordinary detox program, but an advanced version based on scientific research, which includes exercises to heal not only the body, but also the mind and soul.

Section 1. Proper nutrition to cleanse the body

In recent years, the phrase “holistic approach to health” has been increasingly heard. Behind it lies a single word that characterizes this approach: integrity. The fact is that everything in our body is interconnected. That is why good nutrition contributes to health in various areas of our existence. Eating is perhaps the closest contact with the environment: food becomes part of our body. However, physical activity, emotional and mental health, and a comfortable environment are also important (for this reason, our detox program is divided into four sections).

Food choices have a huge impact not only on our metabolism, but also on the healing of diseases, on our energy, physical activity, emotional and mental well-being and the environment. All these seemingly separate planes are actually closely interconnected.

Over the past decades, scientists have learned a lot. According to the largest study of the relationship between nutrition and health in the history of mankind, the results of which are presented in the book “Chinese Study”, we ourselves program ourselves for illness and even death. It’s all about the diet. If we eat whole plant foods, eat little fat, salt and sugar, exclude animal food, then we keep youth and health for many, many years. If you throw food rubbish like fast food, soda and cakes into yourself, like in the oven, eat a lot of fat, red meat (beef, veal, pork) and even more alcohol, the body will respond with chronic fatigue, obesity and serious diseases. So what foods should you eat during your detox and if you decide to make a longer dietary change? Here is a list, there is nothing complicated here, all products can be bought at the nearest supermarket and not spend fabulous sums.

Whole grains (alone, in bread, pasta, etc.)

Wheat, rice, corn, oats, buckwheat, quinoa, amaranth, rye.

Vegetables, Beans and Greens

Cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants, cauliflower, potatoes, beets, carrots, turnips, onions, garlic, radishes, beans, peas, lentils, chickpeas, spinach, lettuce, celery, rucola, parsley, basil.

mushrooms

Champignons, shiitake, oyster mushrooms.

Fruits and berries

Oranges, kiwi, red peppers, apples, blueberries, strawberries, pumpkin, raspberries, cranberries, pears, grapefruit, papaya, peaches, melons.

Nuts

Walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, pistachios.

It is better to minimize the consumption of fish, vegetable oil and refined carbohydrates (white bread, cookies, sugar, cakes, buns and various pastries), and completely exclude – at least temporarily – hamburgers, steaks and steaks, red meat cutlets and meatballs, sausage, etc. sausages, chicken, eggs, dairy products, mayonnaise. And from the permitted products, you can cook a huge number of dishes.

Perhaps, at first glance, such a diet will seem too austere to you, but the positive effect, which manifests itself very, very soon, tilts the balance towards “yes” for a plant-based diet. The results of the China Study clearly show that the lower the proportion of animal foods in the diet, the greater the health benefits.

Section 2. Healing Ayurveda Recipes

In addition to the dishes that you will prepare from the products listed above, you can also try dishes according to Ayurvedic recipes. They not only cleanse and heal the gastrointestinal tract and the entire body, but also have a beneficial effect on the digestion process itself, and at the same time restore immunity and energy reserves. Ayurveda is an ancient oriental teaching that also adheres to a holistic approach, and therefore for several millennia millions of people around the world have been adherents of it. Here are some recipes inspired by Ayurvedic practice from Healthy, Happy, Sexy. During the detox program, you will have time to try them at least once.

Amaranth porridge for breakfast

½ cup amaranth

2 cup water

½ tsp cinnamon powder

1 tsp raw, uncooked honey

Handful of dried cranberries

Add amaranth to boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer over low heat for 20-25 minutes, or until cereal has absorbed all the water. During cooking, be sure to stir the porridge: amaranth easily sticks together and burns. When the porridge is cooked, add cinnamon and honey, sprinkle with dried cranberries and serve.

Beetroot puree with orange

XNUMX/XNUMX onion finely chopped

¼ h. L. salt

¼ h. L. fennel seed

1 tsp olive oil

2-3 peeled beets, cut into cubes

1 large sweet potato, diced

2 st. l. coconut oil

Juice of 1 small orange

Take a fairly deep saucepan (very good if it has a thick bottom), fry the onion with fennel seeds in it in olive oil, salt. Then add the beets and potatoes and continue to fry for about 1 to 2 minutes (medium heat). Then fill the vegetables with water so that they are completely covered with it, let the future puree boil and cook until the vegetables soften. Just make sure that they do not boil! Drain off excess water and puree, add some coconut oil and orange juice. For decoration, you can use the zest and orange slices.

Mary Thompson’s Leek Stew

1 medium onion or 2-3 shallots, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, crushed

3 tbsp. l. ghee (ghee) or olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

3 large carrots, cut into small slices

1 large stalk of leeks, washed and cut into small slices

Juice of 1 fresh lemon

Parsley

Dill

Saute the onion and garlic in olive oil and salt over medium heat until transparent. Add carrots and leeks and continue cooking for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, cover and cook for another 20-30 minutes. When the carrots are soft and slightly brown, turn off the heat. Add lemon juice, fresh parsley and dill, stir and serve.

Chocolate pudding

1 glass of water

2−4 dates

Half avocado

2-3 figs

1 tbsp. l. cocoa butter

⅛ h. L. vanilla essence

¼ glasses of nuts

Place all ingredients in a blender bowl and beat until smooth. You can also use a food processor or submersible mixer. You can add berries for decoration.

Healing drink with cucumber and mint

1 small cucumber, thinly sliced

10-20 mint leaves

12 glasses of water

Rinse the cucumber and mint. Place in a large jug. Cover with water and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Serve warm to room temperature. The recipe is for about 4 liters of drink.

Section 3. Daily mini workouts

Physical activity improves health. This is a well-known truth. However, there is always not enough time for a fitness club. Plus, during the detox program, you are unlikely to have the strength for full-fledged workouts with “iron”: after all, you will have a lightweight menu on which heavy loads are contraindicated. The best option is charging at home. You will need some free time and a chair.

Need motivation? Please! Scientists have proven that fitness workouts don’t have to be exhausting and last for hours. Enough 7-25 minutes a day to improve mood and well-being. And positive changes in metabolism after such exercises persist for another 72 hours, not counting all the other wow-effects such as weight loss, energy boost and prevention of serious diseases.

To see real benefits even in such a short time as a week, we recommend doing each of the exercises (all of them from the book “7 Minutes for Fitness”) to do every day. Regularity is the key to a good result.

Burpy

There is probably no better exercise for one interesting part of the female body than this. Burpee “burns” the muscles, drawing the necessary shapes, makes you more enduring and burns calories perfectly.

Hyperextension on the floor

This exercise is designed to strengthen your back muscles and improve your posture. Doing it regularly will give you a royal posture! Moreover, it is not difficult at all.

Speed laps

Cardio is the best way to lose weight and strengthen your cardiovascular system. The mysterious abbreviation for heart rate (heart rate) is our pulse. There are different heart rate zones for each age and fitness level. This exercise is designed for beginners, so you can safely perform it. But if you suddenly feel too strong a heartbeat, slow down, walk a little, and then stop to rest.

Touching socks

What is beauty without a tucked up tummy? This exercise is designed to work your abs. Of course, to see the desired cubes, you need to eat right, and not just play sports. And the detox program is ideal: you will just combine proper nutrition and exercise.

Section 4. Breathing Exercises for Peace of Mind and Soul

The benefits of breathing exercises and meditation have been proven for a long time: they help to cope with stress, fatigue and insomnia, strengthen the immune system, relax and unwind. In addition, according to Ayurveda, the basic principles of which are described in the book of the same name, regular breathing exercises provide clarity of mind, energize the body and help balance linear thinking of the left hemisphere of the brain and creativity of the right. You can do only 2-5 minutes a day – even such short warm-ups will be effective.

Diaphragmatic breathing

The diaphragm is a semicircular muscle located at the base of the rib cage between the stomach and lungs. Usually babies take full, deep breaths, so their diaphragm works effectively. But with age, with aging and under the influence of chronic stress, which most adults are exposed to on a daily basis, her movements become slower. As a result, shallow breathing develops, which is not entirely natural. Rapid exercise is a great way to energize the cells in your body and restore proper breathing.

1. Sit on a chair (on the front of it), straighten your spine (posture should be level) and place your feet on the floor. They should not go to the side, no need to tuck their legs under you or put them “waddle” – just straight.

2. Relax your chest, neck and shoulder muscles. Feel the clamps and tension release from them.

3. Place one hand on your stomach and take a slow deep breath through your nostrils. As you inhale, try to clearly feel how the stomach and lower chest (where the ribs end) fill with air and protrude outward.

4. Exhale slowly through your mouth, feeling your ribs and stomach pull back.

Take 10 breaths. At first, you can devote this practice for 1-2 minutes daily, and then gradually increase the time to 5 minutes a day.

Alternating breathing through both nostrils

This is a breathing technique commonly used in Ayurveda and yoga. It helps balance feelings and emotions and is especially suitable for those with psychological problems.

1. Sit on the floor with your legs crossed and comfortable (you should not have anything in the way), or take a chair, sit on the front edge of it and make sure that your spine is straight and your feet are on the floor.

2. Relax, close your eyes and sit for a few seconds, feeling yourself release tension. Then cover the right nostril with your right thumb (this is more comfortable). Breathe out the air quickly and quickly through the left, open nostril.

3. Start a new cycle: slowly draw in air through the left nostril, fixing on the feeling of expansion, distention of the stomach.

4. Now is the time to switch. Gently cover the left nostril with the ring and middle fingers of the same right hand, and then slowly exhale the air through the right nostril.

4. Continue. While the left nostril is closed, inhale through the right. Then again close the right with your thumb and exhale through the left.

This is a complete cycle – one exercise. At the very beginning, try doing this exercise only 5 times, but then try to do it for 5 minutes a day.

Try to follow these recommendations for just seven days: during this week your body will be cleansed, toxins and toxins will naturally go away, your mind, exhausted by work and everyday affairs, will finally rest. Best of all, the positive effects of detox will last for several months.
