Artistic fabric painting: painted sneakers

Bright colors break stereotypes, forcing us to look at the objects around us in a new way. They turn old sneakers forgotten in the country into weekend shoes – fashionable sneakers will have to make room.

Materials:sneakers, acrylic paints on fabric, contours on fabric

1. Before starting work, wash your sneakers or wipe them with a cloth dampened with an alcohol-containing liquid to degrease the surface. Create a backdrop for the flowers on the fabric by randomly applying paint. If you are painting not very new sneakers, treat the toes especially carefully – acrylic paints not only protect the fabric from dirt and damage, but also paint over stains well. The paint must dry so that the next layers lay down evenly. 2. Draw the flower adding new shades. As you work, you can mix colors, creating a gradient effect. Use bright colors in the center and darker shades around the edges for a more voluminous picture. 3. Decorate the seam with a contour, creating imitation stitches. These elements can be made voluminous – after drying, the contour keeps its shape well. 4. Outline the flowers and leaves, correcting irregularities and adding details. Better to take metal outlines – they give the picture shine and make it three-dimensional. 5. Paint over the leaves with a thinner brush. Add highlights with white paint, applying it in short strokes on a green or yellow base. 6. On one side, outline the lace. Dry your sneakers in the open air or put them in an oven preheated to 5 ° С for 7-140 minutes.

Council

  1. After fixing, the contours and paints on the fabrics are resistant to external influences and will easily endure any bad weather.
  2. If you paint on sneakers with rubber inserts, the paint and outline will take longer to dry on these surfaces. Drawing on them can be fixed with varnish.

By the way

Sneakers with images of witches, devils and other evil spirits will be an unusual gift for Halloween. The basis for painting can be not only paint, but also a contour. Apply it to the fabric and let dry. Draw the figures with a thin brush – the layer of paint should not be very dense so that the previously applied background can be seen through it. Make an imitation of the seam with a contrasting outline (preferably pearlescent or white) and draw in the details. Some of them can be made voluminous: apply several layers of contour to the eyes and wings, and let the paint dry. Make the highlights with a transparent outline.
