Christy Frank, a resident of the state of Georgia, USA, woke up one morning due to the fact that she felt movement on the other half of her bed. She opened her eyes and saw a huge cat in front of her — according to her, his height was almost a meter.
“He was 15 centimeters away from me. I immediately realized that this is not a house cat. I was horrified,” the woman shared. Later it turned out that she was visited by an African serval — a predator of the cat family, similar in color to a cheetah.
The frightened woman carefully got up from the bed and, trying not to frighten away the beast, left the bedroom. Frank immediately told her husband David about what had happened, and he closed the animal in the room, and then went around the house and opened the door leading from the street to the bedroom.
The serval immediately went free. He did not behave aggressively — only hissed at the man when he left the room.
The couple believe that they themselves are to blame for the fact that the predator was in their house. They remembered that earlier David had let their dog out and left the door open so she could come back, which is probably what the wild animal took advantage of.
When the serval disappeared from the eyes of the couple, the couple called the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Lieutenant Wayne Hubbard told them that they had been contacted with the same information three times in the past three days. The department suggests that the predator was illegally kept as a pet.
