Distributed by on people and animals (especially in agricultural areas).

Varieties and signs of actinomycosis:

  • neck, head, tongue – asymmetry of the face, rollers form under the skin, around them the skin becomes blue with bruises, lips, cheeks, trachea, tonsils, larynx can also be affected (the most common form with a mild course);
  • genitourinary system (urogenital organs are affected) – rare cases and mainly a consequence of abdominal actinomycosis;
  • skin – secondary localization in case of damage to other organs (the skin is affected when the infiltrates “got” to the subcutaneous tissue;
  • bones and joints – extremely rare species, arises from injuries;
  • abdominal (the area of the large intestine and appendicitis) – often the symptoms are similar to intestinal obstruction and appendicitis, infiltrates occur in the groin area, but if not treated, actinomycosis passes to the kidneys and liver, rarely to the spine and abdominal wall (quite common);
  • thoracic (chest organs suffer) – general weakness and malaise, fever, a cough appears (at first dry, then purulent-mucous sputum appears), fistulas can appear not only on the chest, but even on the back, hips and lower back (the ailment is difficult proceeds, in terms of incidence is in second place);
  • madura foot (mycetoma) – several nodes appear on the heel, the skin becomes a violet-blue hue, then these nodes multiply, filling the entire foot, after a while the foot changes shape and size, eventually breaks the nodes and pus with drusen (grains) flows from the wounds that appear yellow color). It is very difficult, the disease lasts from 10 to 20 years.
