Disgust

Disgust is an emotion necessary for a dog’s survival in the sense that it allows him to spot toxic or expired foods.

Disgust is linked to the dog’s sense of smell (much more powerful than ours) but the objects of its disgust will not be the same as ours: pestilential odors for humans (excrement, carcasses, etc.) are smells. tempting for dogs and vice versa. Thus, the smell of perfume can disgust the dog and make him sneeze.

A withdrawal posture, the enlargement of his eyes with the appearance of the white of the eye and the turning away of the head are the most suggestive signs of disgust in dogs.
