- Apple peels or cores
- 1 tablespoon of sugar for a glass of water
- 1 glass jar
- Fill the glass jar ¾ full with the peels and cores
- Stir the sugar into the water until it dissolves
- Pour over the apple pieces until covered – leave a few inches of space at the top
- Cover the jar with a coffee filter and a rubber band
- Let the pot sit in a warm, dark place for two weeks
- Add vinegar at least 3 times a week
- Remove the scum on top
- Filter after two weeks
- Leave the vinegar to work for another 2-4 weeks until the desired taste is achieved.
- Pour into a jar with a lid and store in a cupboard.
